I saw this very interesting interview with Paola Antonelli, from MOMA in NY, curator of the exhibit “Design and the elastic mind”. See it here here on the great blog of Pfsk. Highly recomended. - K

I was visiting the great blog siagrafica and checked out Sias post from
pikaland and the new pickapackages. Great concept by the way, love the zine too. Found the creations called small people by Applehead. ( I am not so tall myself
so I could relate to the title). I fell totally for this card. I made my best literary work ever
when I was 8 years old a poem about bubbles. This brought the memory back. - K

Congratulations to our blogging friend from Portland Oregon, graphic designer and artist Angie Burr.

work would be available for sale. She has just launched her new site and is also currently showing at IDOM
in Portland from April 23 to May 28. This painting is part of her constellation series and is called “Land and sea”.
You can check it out here See also her gorgeous scarves. We wish Angie lots of good wind. - K

Discovered the playful paper art by the danish goldsmith and artist Peter Callesen.
Quite amazing stuff. More about him and his work can be seen on his website here.
His work is represented through the galleri of Helene Nyborg in Copenhagen, which was founded in
january of 2006 and works with young and emerging danish and international artists. - K

On Design Sponge today I found wall paper created for the ceiling
by the swedish designer Lisa Bengtsson. I checked out her website and
was quite impressed at the amount of work she has done, graphic design,
illustrations and product designs. I had seen this clever frame wallpaper
some time ago, but never knew who had created it. Now I do, it is Lisa Bengtsson,
and there is lots more to check out where this came from. - K

Saw this fantastic book series on Yvestown blog. Thought I would help spread the word
on these books, as I recently went to Hansen and Jensen and bought a book from the cool collection
of Jeu de paume .I saw them at H & J a year ago, all delightfully displayed
in an accordian magazine rack. Everytime I came by I had a hard time choosing one since
they were each individually so delightful. Finally chose one about Holland home style. This
is truly a special book series. I love the real home/life concept of them, the gorgeous japanese lettering, layout style and content.
Can be purchased at Hansen og Jensen in Tullinsgade.

Would like to share that Erin at Design for Mankind has created
another beautiful inspiration e-zine. Can be viewed here on Issuu or

Mette and I are busy with our final exams. So we have not been so actively blogging lately.
Here is a selection of glasses sold in some of our favourite shops in Copenhagen.
The first is the collection Modus from the danish glass design company Holmegaard,
It is designed by Garcia & Larsen who share a design studio in the interesting street Tullinsgade,
in Copenhagen. They are sold in a special shop called Hansen og Jensen, which is a place also in Tullinsgade
with lots of treasures and great service. Next are designs created by Ceclie Manz one of Denmarks
most talented designers. Can be purchased in another wonderful shop Den Mindste Designbutik
located in Christianshavn. - K

Some pages of a mood book im currently playing with. /M

Cutting and gluing, right up our alley here at cocos! Found this
talented dane at freshly blended. Besides cutting a helvetica font,
see here what else graphic designer & illustrator Casper Ledet is
up to. /M

Find myself being caught up in search for designobjects, in which
there is a story other than the object itself. Play lamp is designed
by Jacob Manz, and can be found here. /M

Italien designer Marcella Foschi made these cassette wallets. They
are made from original casettes, which makes them all unique.
See more from the collection at designboom, or at private circle. /M

For the Milan design week, Richard Hutton produced
a series of furniture that are all produced by hand. On this table
Hutton comments, “a book is all about layers, layers of meaning.
this collection is about objects and what we can read in them.
design is not only about beautiful forms, but also about
the stories an object can tell.” /M

The Egg was originally designed for Royal Hotel Copenhagen
by Arne Jacobsen in 1958. This year the chair celebrates
its 50. birthday. For this occation the artist Tal R has
reupholstered 50 chairs in brand new patchwork coates.

Add some humour to your sofa with these
sculptural pieces. The huge Pom Pom, and
the Textile stone are both from the hands
of danish textile designer
Pernelle Fagerlund. /M

In the mood for having a sit, and enjoying these great benches.
The danish designer Ditte Hammerstrøm made these indoor
benches. I really like the mix in color/ shape and placement
of the bottons. See Ditte´s design and several other talented
danish designers at Danishedge.

This handcrafted bench, from Osisu is called Grasshopper.
Osisu´s furniture really surprises the eye, as they twist
ordinary angles into new shapes. Se more from Osisu here.

At Bloesom i found this bench called KlaBenk, from ducth
designers Eva Broekhuijse and Iris Hiddink.

Found these benches at Designboom. There from a projekt
called black canvas project. Design (top) by Karim Rashid,
and Claude Zellweger (bottom). /M

This issue is about favourite nooks and cranny´s in the home. Fell for these interesting dishes and place mats by Topoware. A design collaboration between
canadian Alexandra Deschamp Sonsino and german Karlos Torkos. Found on Style Files. Can be purchased through their Etsy shop here. The collection is made up of cups, plates, bowls, placemats and a tablecloth. The idea behind the designs is to explore the visual and social landscape of dining by using outlines and descriptions to make the eating experience feel like a journey. See their website here.

Today I also happily discovered the graphic artist Thereza Rowe from the U.K.
Thereza has a great visual journal blog called Tiny red design where she shares
bits of her work. I fell particularly for these urban themes. Nina from Holland
has interviewed Thereza and you can read the interview here.
The urban drifting theme is great and the sketchbook drawing about imperfection fits my mood for today. - K
